Three huge MAJESTIC CROSSES facing Interstate 40, east of downtown Memphis, accent the campus of Bellevue Baptist Church, a flagship church of the Southern Baptist Convention. The center cross is 150 feet tall with two flanking crosses at 120 feet. These crosses are engineered to withstand 120 mile per hour winds and are constructed of welded structural steel, and painted with a white urethane coating. Countless travelers have been drawn off the interstate to these crosses, where their lives have been changed, their hope restored, and their hearts reclaimed from the curse of sin. These MAJESTIC CROSSES were dedicated at a special ceremony with a choir, orchestra and thousands of church members at midnight on New Year’s Eve, 1999. Millions have seen them since then and reminded of our Savior’s love for them.
