The motto of the Church at the Cross, formerly known as First Baptist Church of Central Florida is “where the cross is Central.” Though the phrase was used only figuratively in the past, a stately 199 foot tall MAJESTIC CROSS cross now stands in the center of their sprawling campus and is visible for miles around. The 3D enhanced base of the cross depicts four biblical scenes, each 40 feet tall—the Sermon on the Mount, the Crucifixion, the Empty Tomb and the Ascension. These sculpted panels were highlighted with painted accents by the talented graphic artist David Shows.
Billy Graham said, “Once you have been to the cross, you will never be the same”. This statement has been proven over and over by the recommitments to Christ that have been made under the shadow of this MAJESTIC CROSS.
