When Pastor Dale Hyche was told that a future interstate highway would be going through the middle of the church property where he pastored, he was devastated. However, God had a big plan for the hundred or so parishioners who attended his church each week. By God’s hand, Pastor Dale’s seemingly personal disappointment became a beautiful community reality as a 100 foot tall gleaming white cross was erected adjacent to Interstate 22.
Pastor Hyche commented, “We were convinced this task was a worthy one and we found it to be true as the cross was completely paid for within two years after completion by the generous gifts of businesses, other churches and friends from all over the United States”.
